Price covers: Lesson fee, matcha tea, sweets and a Japanese Obento supplied by Dahlia Restaurant.

You will learn warigeiko (basic movements) and ryakutemae (abbreviated tea preparation procedures) for both Usucha (light tea) and Koicha (thick tea). This course is the first step in a 7-level journey in the Omotesenke tradition.

  2. Narai-goto – Deepening of foundational practice

  3. Kazari-mono – Focus on display and form

  4. Satsu-bako – Practice with tea box utensils

  5. Kara-mono – Certification to teach

  6. Dai-tenmoku – Mastery of Tenmoku bowls

  7. Bon-ten – Professor-level; eligible to receive a tea name
