Celebrate Vijayadashami & Vidyarambam through the Japanese Art of Writing
On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, Hayakawa invites you to experience Shodō — the traditional Japanese art of calligraphy.Vijayadashami is traditionally regarded as an auspicious day to begin learning. This year, on 20 October 2026, we continue this tradition by commencing our new C-JAT I (Basic Japanese / JLPT N5) C1 Batch 233, a Weekend Hybrid Japanese Language Course. The Hybrid format enables students to participate in person at Hayakawa, Chennai, or online, making Vijayadashami an ideal occasion to take the first step towards learning Japanese.
Hayakawa brings together Indian tradition and Japanese culture by celebrating this special day through Shodō — the Japanese “Way of Writing.”
Participants will learn about traditional Japanese calligraphy tools, brush handling, basic strokes and the artistic expression behind Japanese characters.
No previous knowledge of Japanese or calligraphy is required.
