Hayakawa is proud to present the much-awaited annual Illustration Contest 2026, inviting our students and alumni from around the world to showcase their creativity and love for Japanese culture through art.
This year’s theme is:
おいしい日本 – Favorite Japanese Food
From sushi and ramen to mochi and matcha, participants are invited to bring their favourite Japanese food to life through original hand-drawn illustrations.
Eligibility
- The contest is open to all current students and alumni of Hayakawa.
- There is no age limit for participation.
• Paper Size: A4
• Paper Quality: 120 GSM or above
• Dimensions: 29 cm height × 21 cm width
• Orientation: Portrait only
• Only hand-drawn illustrations are permitted
• Digital drawing tools are strictly not allowed
• Participants must sign and date their illustration at the bottom right corner
Submission Process
To participate, contestants must email the following on or before Monday, 20th April 2026, by 6:00 PM
• A scanned copy of the illustration
• A photograph of themselves holding the illustration
Email submissions must be sent to: contact@hayakawa.in
Submission of Original Artwork
In addition to the soft copy submission, the original illustration must reach Hayakawa on or before 30th April 2026.

Selection Process
- All eligible entries will be published on Hayakawa’s official Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages starting from 21st April 2026.
- The illustration that receives the highest number of likes across the published entries by 30th April 2026 and judges scores will be selected as the winner.
The winner of Hayakawa Illustration Contest 2026 will be announced during the Kodomono Hi Event on 05th May 2026.
