J-POP Contest at Hayakawa 2023

We at Hayakawa conducted a J-Pop contest on December 9th, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event was open to all current and former students and took place at the school premises. Following a welcome speech by Shimizu sensei, the event commenced, featuring performances from the following participants:

1. Kanchana Karthik - 「すずめ」
2. Mohanapriya R - 「灯火のまにまに」
3. Oviya - 「ブルーバード」
4. V. S. Sathyhaa Roopashree - 「会いたかった」
5. Kasiviswanath Harinath - 「炎」
6. Raeeza K - 「いちばん星」
7. Aruna Mathangi - 「俺の彼女」
8. Roselin J - 「Courage」
9. Sanjana Prabakar - 「死ぬのがいいわ」
10. Santosh Jeevan - 「きみと恋のままで終われない いつも夢のままじゃいられない」
11. Fredrick Russel - 「すきやき」
12. Aruna Devi - 「悪魔の子」
13. Jessica - 「Christmas Gift」
14. Aarokia Sathana - 「春よ恋」
15. Anuja & Balakumaran - 「夢の翼」

The special guests and judges for the event were members of the Japanese band, Pink Kuroimo, who also performed several songs for the audience after the contest:

- Mr. Shigehiko Tanaka on Guitar (Air water India Pvt. Ltd)
- Mr. Toru Ogawa on Drums (Daimler India Commercial Vehicles)
- Ms. Yukako Fukutani on Vocals (PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC))
- Ms. Anna Kunisada on Bass Guitar (Fuji Electric India Private Ltd)

Another special guest for the evening, Professor Katsunori Takahashi from Japan University of Economics, Fukuoka Campus, addressed the audience about pursuing higher studies at Japanese universities.

Finally, the winners of the contest were announced. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes were selected based on the scores given by the judges, with two contestants tying for 3rd place:

- 1st Place: V. S. Sathyhaa Roopashree (「会いたかった」)
- 2nd Place: Aruna Mathangi (「俺の彼女」)
- 3rd Place: Mohanapriya R (「灯火のまにまに」) (tied) & Sanjana Prabakar (「死ぬのがいいわ」)

The various participants presented the band members and Takahashi sensei with mementos as tokens of appreciation. The event concluded with a photo session.
